Digital Week Kiel presents itself as the digital festival of the "True North" -- a central hub for digital enthusiasts exploring the latest trends, insights, and expertise. It is defined by active participation, knowledge sharing, and a strong focus on collaborative learning.
Since 2017, Kiel has dedicated one week each year to inspiring ideas, showcasing the latest digital trends firsthand, and providing valuable insights for digital innovation.
For the first six years, the area around the Kiel Science Centre was the heart of #diwokiel – equipped with a streaming stage and workshop space, as well as networking opportunities with room for meeting and exchanging ideas.
In 2023, the InnoPier on the ninth and tenth floors of the former HSH Nordbank building became the #diwokiel hotspot for the first time – offering a panoramic view of Kiel's city center. Those unable to attend in person could follow many of the #diwokiel events via live stream and participate in and discuss topics during online workshops.
Digital Week Kiel offers a mix of networking opportunities, high-quality workshops, and insights into current digital topics. The focus is not only on trying out digital tools and techniques, but also on personal exchange regarding digital issues.
The aim of Digital Week Kiel is to inspire and share the exploration and understanding of new solutions for the future of the economy and society.
"AI is the steam engine of our time! Above all, we must give small businesses the opportunity to access digital innovations. To achieve this, we need to facilitate knowledge transfer and further expand training and professional development opportunities for businesses."
In recent years, additional key venues have been established at Seeburg, right on the Kiellinie, and at the COBL co-working space on Legienstraße. Here, the up.load festival is all about the next generation's skilled workers.
The goal is to raise awareness of digital careers, foster connections between young talent and local businesses, and help participants discover their individual strengths and interests in the digital field. Workshops, talks, and keynotes give visitors the opportunity to explore, learn, exchange ideas, and connect.
