Across Germany, many companies view the shortage of skilled workers as the biggest obstacle to growth and prosperity; in many sectors and regions, there are significant difficulties in recruiting skilled staff. Additionally, competition for qualified staff in the region, as well as meeting applicants' salary expectations arise as challenges. As Kiel’s economic development agency, we support companies in tackling skill shortages by boosting their capacity for innovation and facilitating successful matching in order to attract skilled workers.
